Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie
Morning routine! How can we help our bodies cleanse the underlying and unwanted heavy metals? One delicious and healthy way we can do this is to consistently drink a heavy metal detox smoothie!
Research has shown that heavy metals are always in our body, but typically nowadays, in a harmful and overabundance way. Some heavy metals can be necessary as long as they are in very small amounts, but most kids and adults have more of the unnecessary ones than our systems can handle.
Heavy metals such as copper, fluoride, arsenic, lead and mercury will build up in toxic amounts within our bodies and effect our health in a multitude of ways.
Mercury & Lead- damage the central nervous system
Chromium & Arsenic- are known carcinogens
Cadmium- is linked to degenerative bone disease
.....and the list of proven harmful connections go on and on!
You are probably wondering how we get exposure to all of these heavy metals and how they make their way into our brain and organs? The answer is, mostly from our everyday life and the environment that surrounds us. Known sources to cause heavy metal buildup are things like:

🔗metal cookware & finishes
🔗pesticides & herbicides (conventional produce)
🔗soil near old gas stations & industrial buildings
All the ingredients in this smoothie recipe (besides the fresh squeezed orange juice) targets and PULLS heavy metals from your tissues, organs & central nervous system so that they can be carried through your body to be excreted. How amazing is that!
Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie (makes 2 servings)
2 cups of wild blueberries
1 cup of cilantro
1 TBSP of fresh lemon juice
1 cup of fresh squeezed orange juice (sub water/other juice/whole fruit)
1 teaspoon barley grass juice extract
1 teaspoon Hawaiian spirulina
Small handful of Atlantic dulse
Combine all the ingredients in a blender with a few pieces of ice, blend until you get it to the perfect consistency, and enjoy the detoxifying benefits!!
